Camp Counselor Search For Camp Job Directors

Benefits for Camp Directors
Isummer camp counselor jobs developed My Summers in 1999, with direct input from camp directors who had gotten to know me over the years through my long association with camps. After spending 16 summers at camps in Maine, as a tennis director, cabin counselor and camper, in 1994 I started Camp Finders, a referral service for campers. I have personally visited about 175 camps over the years, and many camp directors who work with Camp Finders also use My Summers.

In developing My Summers, I first talked with many camp directors about what they would be looking for in a staffing web site. All of them expressed a need to find more American staff, and they preferred to have applications directly e-mailed to them. These directors thought an e-mail system would be much easier than having to remember to check through a database of applicants every day.

With that initial input, I developed My Summers to offer two services. The first, and most important, is a direct e-mail system. When an applicant submits the registration form from My Summers, his or her information is immediately e-mailed to the camps that subscribe to the site. The registration form for applicants was also developed over the years with help from camp directors. The form is user-friendly, as is the e-mail system itself. My Summers is the only staffing site that is set up purely as an e-mail system for staff applications.

The second service offered to camp directors is job postings. Camp directors can post an unlimited number of jobs at the site. Although this is a more passive way to find staff, as they have to respond directly to a posting, this add on service can be expensive at other sites.
